Chicago Blackhawks Charities announced today that defenseman Duncan Keith will hold a charity concert benefitting Keith Relief on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, from 6:30-10 p.m. at Joe’s Bar on Weed Street (940 W. Weed St., Chicago), featuring country music act Eli Young Band. All proceeds will benefit Keith Relief and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.
“Thanks to the incredible charity of the Chicago community, this event has continued to grow each year, raising over $175,000 to help families challenged by the financial burdens caused by medical bills,” said Keith. “It’s an honor to have such amazing support from our fans, my teammates and the entire organization, and I look forward to enjoying another successful evening with everyone.”
The event will include a VIP reception prior to the concert from 6:30-7:30 p.m., featuring many current Blackhawks players. Eli Young Band, best known for “Even if it Breaks your Heart” and “Crazy Girl” will perform from 8:30-10 p.m. A silent auction will be open throughout the event, in addition to a live auction prior to the concert. VIP tickets ($250 each) will be available for purchase on Friday, Dec. 5, via duncankeith.com/keith-relief-concert.
Created in 2011, Keith Relief is dedicated to alleviating the financial and emotional burdens of families and individuals dealing with medical crises. As a partner of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Keith Relief sponsors a special transplant floor dedicated to pediatric transplant patients and their families at Ronald McDonald House® near Lurie Children’s, the nation’s largest Ronald McDonald House® located downtown Chicago. This concert marks the third of its kind for Keith Relief. In 2014, approximately $175,000 was raised for Keith Relief and Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana through the benefit concert
